County CSOs Training on Understanding the Auditor General’s Reports

The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA-Kenya) under AHADI supported by USAID held a capacity building workshop on understanding and interpreting the Auditor General’s Reports for Civil Society Organizations in five select counties of Nandi, Nyamira, Vihiga, Meru and Machakos on diverse dates between the 28th October to 6th November 2019.
The objective of the training was three-fold;
- Increase civil society’s knowledge on the audit process;
- Enhance capacity of the civil society to easily understand Office of the Auditor-General’s audit reports
- Empower civil society to champion public debate and call to action on accountability issues
The intended outcome of the training is to strengthen the capacity of Civil Society Organization’s to enable them to understand and interact more with Auditor General’s Reports and to use the information from the said reports to build public support for calls to improve systems, enact better policies, and punish those responsible for corrupt actions.
