Corruption Risks During the Covid-19 Emergency

Tuesday, 02 June 2020: The IEA-Kenya, under the auspices of HIVOS, held a webinar on: ‘Government Emergency Expenditures and Emerging Corruption Risks during the COVID-19 crisis’. The objective of the virtual forum was to discuss the nature of public spending during emergencies, public procurement under emergency relief funds, opportunities for leakages and proposals to avert the emerging corruption risks.
The forum was moderated by Ms. Jacky Kagume, Programme Officer at IEA-Kenya, and the presentations were made by Mr. Philip Gichana of Transparency International-Kenya; Dr. Patrick Mumo, Senior Lecture of Finance at Kenya School of Government and Mr. Jorum Ngunyi from Manager-Internal Audit ~ EPZA.
