The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA Kenya) has emerged as one of the top Think Tanks in Kenya and Sub Saharan Africa, according to the 2020 Global Index Report by the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. The ranking identifies think tanks that excel in research, analysis and public engagement on a wide range of policy issues with the aim of advancing debate, facilitating cooperation between relevant actors, maintaining public support and funding, and improving the overall quality of life in their countries.
“We are pleased that our ranking places us in an admirable position of 2nd in Kenya and 7th in the continent. We read this as a confirmation to our members that the methods and mission has broad recognition and generates value for knowledge and practice in public affairs,” said elated Kwame Owino, Chief Executive Officer at IEA-Kenya.
The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) involves 8,000 think tanks and other civil society actors worldwide in various categories. Over the last 30 years, the TTCSP has developed and led a series of global initiatives that have helped bridge the gap between knowledge and policy in critical policy areas such as international economics, international peace and security, globalization and governance, environmental issues, information and society, poverty alleviation, and healthcare and global health.
